Lilly Mackenzie and the Mines of Charybdis Page 19

It's only just turned Friday, so I'm well ahead right now. I've got Page 20 almost finished, 21 is half inked and the big complicated panel on the top is taking me some time to draw. Page 22 is just layouts , but that will be done pretty quickly once I get a bit of time at it.
This means I can start working on my 10 page Judge Dredd script in earnest and not have to get sidetracked by Lilly for a while. I've also got the first script of the next Dante story-arc today and the first couple of pages are just huge splash pages of Manhattan and Times Square under Tsarist occupation...which will be...hard work.

Not many words this week, I'm letting the pictures carry things for a page.

To catchup with the story so far http://www.lillymackenzie.com

Many thanks to [info]squadron222   , Gary Caldwell for his impeccable colour sense

Life would be so much easier if we had a rewind button.

That last panel is divine.

Kudos to all the pre-LILLY work and the upcoming DANTE/DREDD stuff. I can't wait to learn from you at DEEP6.

Yep, that last panel really shows what an impact a good colorist makes. Especially the orange highlights on the oblique-to-the-light-source portions of the station...it's mostly backlit, but *not* entirely. Kudos to Gary!

I really love what the colors bring to your open linework. It has a real D'Israeli feel, or similar to when Zoran Janjetov recolored Moebius' Incal work. Very pretty.

Last two pages have really pumped up the volume. Great, great dialogue, and I love the way the story is unfolding. Wonderful!

YOU MEAN DANTE ISN'T IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS DREDD AND ABC WARRIORZ AND INVASION OMG I'M DEVASTATED,

...

Seriously, this was a good success at letting the pictures carry the story. That last panel is ace.

Nice work, Simon and great to hear about a new Dante in Manhattan story, looking forward to that.
