WAKE is gorgeous stuff with just enough to make me wanna learn more. Leaps and bounds different from BUTTERFLY, you multi-faceted comix genius, you. Now, if only DC would let you revive SUPERBOY or, hell, revamp THE TEEN TITANS, all would be right with your trifecta of good.

Beautiful and moody, but my favorite part is how you can FEEL the fantastic part of the story circling him behind the curtain... Really good tension.

This is such gorgeous work. Though it's completely its own thing, it has a similar feel to Courtney Crumrin for me, and I love me some Courtney Crumrin.

I'm definitely looking forward to more. ^_^

Dead adventurer grandfather, curious kid, expansive bookcase with what appears to be a crystal ball and a monster statue, and a mysterious haggard guy dressed like a superhero waiting in the wings to make the kid's life... "awaken"?

Dean, are you sure this isn't supposed to be a young adult's novel? I know you admitted that it in affect is... and I LOVE your art and coloring here... just almost feel like I should be reading this, not "watching it".

Keep going, more... more!

I love it Dean! Especially that frame where he's entering the library with the light coming in from behind him. What a great mood you're already setting. I'll be anxiously waiting for more!
